The Account Executive will develop a solid understanding of our marketing products and have solid consultative selling skills to be able to best develop solutions to meet client needs and close deals. Revenue closure, account relationship building, customer satisfaction, and product implementation success are key responsibilities.
Account Executive candidates must have prior television and digital experience combined with a drive to ensure the success of clients and station alike.
This position requires analytic thinking and problem-solving skills combined with detail to accuracy. In short, this position offers a challenging environment for the right person that thrives in a selling and marketing environment.
Essential Job Functions:
- Own, manage, and develop relationships with clients, agencies, and advertisers through day-to-day interaction
- Generate/increase revenue from an established account list; meet and exceed annual revenue goals
- Identify, target, develop, and secure new business and revenue streams for Waterman Media utilizing a variety of multi-platform opportunities
- Create customized solutions for clients that will demonstrate the effectiveness of Waterman Media
- Execute elements, monitor performance, and ensure customer satisfaction
- Create and manage new customer base, looking beyond the traditional media customer
- Carry out sales strategies and action plans for identified targets of opportunity
- Maintain a current knowledge of ratings, programs and competitive conditions in the market
- Actively grow industry intelligence
- Embrace, understand, target, pitch, and secure new sources of advertising revenue for Waterman television and digital properties
- Create customized solutions for local clients that will demonstrate the power of Waterman Media with the ultimate goal of shifting advertising dollars to Waterman Media.
- Identify and market to previously undeveloped advertisers the value and benefit of TV, mobile, digital, and any other multi-platform advertising
- Develop growth revenue by focusing on “conversion” targets from other media including radio, print, online, and cable.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have superior organizational skills and possess problem-solving skills
- Must have proven track record of selling ability
- Ability to meet frequent deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy is crucial
- Excellent data entry skills and computer proficiency, with mandatory knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Complete understanding of Nielsen and ComScore ratings
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
- Demonstrate customer service skills, communicating with internal and external clients
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3-5 years of TV sales experience
- Proven track record of developing creative solutions for customers’ marketing objectives and garnering revenue from non-traditional sources
- Sales skills with a record of attaining or exceeding quotas
- Experience with Wide Orbit preferred
- Bi-lingual a plus
